Vancouver Land Cruise
Since cruising is limited during our winters we annually do a land cruise. For 2010 the group selected Vancouver BC, December 3-5, going by Amtrak out of Mount Vernon to downtown Vancouver. The schedule and details are listed below:\
DEPART; Mt. Vernon Friday, Dec 3rd at 9:18a
Arrive Vancouver at 11:40a
Fare: $28.80 round trip ( adults)
$24.48 round trip ( > 62 senior )
DEPART: Vancouver Sunday, Dec 5th at 5:45p
Arrive Mount Vernon 8:12p
This is a group rate and I believe very reasonable. The catch to getting this rate and having our own group seating together is that the fare must be paid by Oct.29th. Since we are going over the border we must have our passport info faxed in before we pay our fare. Information needed is passport number, expiry date, name, and birth date. For those folks without a passport they will accept a birth certificate. Since I am going on a cruise this month, Warren Walz has offered to get the information to Amtrak. Vancouver:
There will be lots to do in Vancouver as Xmas will be approaching. I will get a list of fun filled activities out to all later. Meantime I wanted to get our bookings made so we could get good group rates. I did find a 5 star hotel that is on Burrard St. near Robson St corner. GREAT LOCATION. It is THE SUTTON PLACE HOTEL.
